Just ranting about my Petco trainer

@autumn1123 I'm personally not convinced the US APDT is even serious with promoting education or humane methods of training at this point. I am still seething from my email exchange to get a certain line of compulsion chains off their listings.

@faithoverfear Do we have the same trainer? Mine kept telling me that my dog wasn't loose-leash walking when she was, and constantly putting down her progress. She did the same thing to the other girl in the class (it was just our two pups).

She also thought dogs spoke English, and wanted me to EXPLAIN to my dog what she had done wrong when she was learning "wait" and got up before I released her. I straight up laughed and said "she doesn't speak English" and the other couple cracked up, but the trainer was pissed.

Needless to say I didn't sign up for Round 2 of puppy classes with her.

Petco I'm guessing is where you go for your first job as a trainer, and this person sounds like I did when I was working retail as a 18-20 yr old.
