Behavioral, medical, or both?

Hi everyone!

So my dog (3.5 yr spayed F) and my sis dog (2.5 yr spayed F) are suddenly getting into fights. My dog was diagnosed with epilepsy last year and she has been having break through “rage” seizures (sudden bouts of aggression followed a lot of licking), so we are switching from 125mg of Zonisamide to K bro-vet.

As of right now, they are separated, but it is causing stress for them and our family. They have been together since we got my sisters dog at 3/4 months and we haven’t had any issues. I have an appointment with a neurologist for my dog and we will be having them wear basket muzzles.

What should we do?

@symph Keep them separated with a tall, sturdy doggie gate when you are out or not right there to observe, feed separately, monitor, don't leave food down.

Separate water dishes, different locations.

Follow through with the neurologist, there may be more going on with this dog that would explain the increase in aggressive behavior. The neurologist will probably want to do imaging/MRI to rule out brain anomalies.
