    Projected to be 94lbs

@tifani Look at the parents and their weight, that's where you will get an idea. Those formulas never figure out correctly. Just keep feeding it and when it's done growing you will know lol, sorry but size can be environmental too.

    Female in heat

@peterrajum Just like us human ladies each dog is different. She could be feeling crummy but just want to be left alone. Hormones are powerful things and she’s being super charged with them right now. She’ll be back to normal before you know it.

“It’s cruel to walk your dog in [this -20°C windchill]!”

@papajoefreeman Oh lord that dog was bred specifically for that type of weather. It's everything in his DNA makeup to love the cold and not be bothered by it. Cold is his reason for living!! Gorgeous pup by the way. Love the markings!

Interested in co-ownership in the future

@shawnmari As a breeder I would love seeing that kind of work put into your dog. I currently mentor 2 start up breeders. When I have questions I call my mentor or reproductive vet. My mentor has been helping me for 30 years now. She’s getting up there but boy does she know her stuff. Sounds...

K this is really disgusting but HELP

@juridical Dogs have pretty tough digestive systems. But, fresh food and water will be best for them. Just don’t repeat this. You don’t want to deal with diarrhea.

    Help

@hisgirl Another good place to start is have him collected for a semen sample and see how his motility is. Also your dog needs to be two years old for all the proper health testing. Have him checked for PRA too, it's an eye issue that is genetic.

What happens to the dogs that you don't breed?

@revstockton I pay for the testing at two years of age on these show puppies. If they pass they will be bred. That’s why my show puppies only go to serious show homes, mostly people I already know. If you don’t want to breed I’m not going to force the issue. But I will encourage you to keep...

What happens to the dogs that you don't breed?

@revstockton Reputable breeders have waiting lists of folks looking for show puppies and pet puppies. Pet quality go to families for their lives as lovely pets. Show quality puppies go to show homes and are sent to the show ring, hunt field etc. to title and prove their worth for future...

Oldest safe age for FIRST litter?

@sammac I won't breed a bitch after 6. Unless and I do mean unless she is given an absolutely fantastic bill of health from my reproductive vet and it's either a first or second litter. I don't breed my girls more than twice. If she is given a go ahead from my vet then I will attempt to...

ADVICE WANTED: First time mother, c-section, spayed, in pain, larger than normal litter size and puppy size, overwhelmed

@layla17293 How many puppies? If they haven’t gained in 72 hours vet time. Some puppies do fail to thrive. It’s heartbreaking but it happens. Sometimes the vet can intervene, sometimes you have to make the hard choice and put the puppy down. Dog breeding isn’t for the faint of heart. I...

@layla17293 Good to hear, some first time mamas get scatter brained.

ADVICE WANTED: First time mother, c-section, spayed, in pain, larger than normal litter size and puppy size, overwhelmed

@layla17293 Your whelping box needs a pig rail, please google it and add it. First time mamas can lose their minds, it happens. Good news she’s feeding her babies, but have some goats milk on hand should that change. Anxiety can cause them to stop nursing their puppies. You may have to step in...

Need honest answers on getting this ball (maybe) rolling…

@james1131 I have a stud dog along with my bitches. He’s older now but during his early years I had a lot of requests to breed to him. He was huge, sweetest boy ever with an amazing coat. This was all after I got a grand championship on him by 3 years old. However it’s still your...

What kind of dog should I buy for my wife?

@cbh You're kind of asking for the moon here. If you want to go to the shelter for this dog then you will have to take what you get. Unless you get a puppy. Also shelter puppies tend to be a mix of who knows what. How are you going to get your requirements from a shelter dog? Your...

    SINGLETON

@affitapoux I have a singleton, best dog I’ve ever had. Sweet and loving. Incredible show dog and stud dog. He was raised in a household of his mom and two aunties. They kept him in line at all times. He pushed his boundaries and the girls pushed back. If you can expose the puppy to...

    Mono amniotic Twins

@sustainableblueberry Phone them and see if they will chat with you. My repro vet is 2 hours away. I call her when I need her help or will drive my girls up there should they need her. A good repro vet is worth their weight in gold.

    Mono amniotic Twins

@sustainableblueberry I personally don’t have any experience with this. Do you have access to a good reproductive veterinarian? They may have some answers for you.

Is it overkill to pay 3500 for a well health tested puppy from a show breeder when I’m not into showing?

@mainechild We breed dogs period. Some have better conformation so they may end up in the show ring. Some aren’t perfect conformation so they go to our pet families. The majority of a litter is going to be pet puppies. If I have a litter of 8, 3-4 may be show dogs. The rest are lovely healthy...
