What blades do y’all use for reverse on dog

I was taught
5/8ths with 5/8ths reverse

4 with 5/8ths reverse.

5 with 4 reverse

7 with 5 reverse

In school, but I always felt like it either took nothing off on some, or way too much off on others, just wondering what y’all recommended especially for the drop coat dogs who’s hair never looks good without a reverse, thank you!!

@1joy1 It’s two lengths up, afaik (and I do reverse a LOT, more than most people I know). 3/4CC is a 3. 5/8CC is a 4. 3 is a 5. 4 is a 7.

If you do a reverse with a 5 blade it’s more of a 10, that might be your problem?

@1joy1 I go based off the millimeter length. 4 blades are 9 to 9.5 millimeters, so if I want to reverse something to that length, I'll go with my 19 mm guard, which I'm 96% certain is a 3/4 inch.
