Q to the professional groomers: took my fluffy bernedoodle to a new groomer, and asked for 4 on the body & 5 on the legs. I brush him at least every other day & always VERY thoroughly before the appt, so knots are minimal. (Previous groomers have commented on how well he's brushed!). I picked him up and he had an ugly buzz cut! Any ideas on reasons why the groomer ignored my specific instructions and gone as short as possible?? ![Loudly crying face :sob: 😭](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f62d.png)
UPDATE: Thank you everyone for your comments!! Based on everyone's feedback, I realized it turns out that I actually got exactly what I asked for: the numbers I had written down from a previous groomer (who had done a great job!), were numbers that they "translated" to human clipper lengths so that I would "understand" (even though I don't even know what human clipper lengths are either). I don't think they expected me to turn around and repeat those exact numbers to another groomer (I am out of town and needed another groomer). So this was a classic case of "lost in translation." Fortunately, my dog's hair will grow back, so it's not the end of the world. And lesson learned!
Thanks again everyone!
