Left Side of Dogs Stomach is Hard

Hello!

I have an eight month old pitbull mix. He has been acting normal and eating normal.

However the past few days I’ve noticed his stomach (left side only) is very hard. I can push on the right side and it’s very soft and has some give. But when I push on his left side it’s very tough and I can feel it only on the outline of his stomach organ.

Any idea what it is? I’m not worried enough to go to the vet because his demeanor is the same I’m just curious if y’all have any ideas what’s going on.

@christianmusicstudio A hard abdomen could be something serious. I would suggest having your pup seen by a vet.

@christianmusicstudio Go to the vet; It could be a tumor or a hole in his stomach lining and his organs is spilling out in between the skin/stomach either way this is probably serious and he needs to go to the vet.

@christianmusicstudio My guess is a bloat, especially if it’s only his left side, with no other symtoms.
Any change in his diet or think he might’ve gotten into something?
Try rubbing his belly in circular motions starting from top of his belly and down, and put your ear on his belly to see if it makes any gurgling noise.
If you suspect it’s a bloat too, try baby gas medicine “simethicone”, it’s fine for dogs as long as the only active ingredient is simethicone. Hope he feels better soon!
