Is Hills Weight Reduction Canned Dog Food Safe?

My neighbor gave me several cases of Hill's Prescription Diet r / d Weight Reduction Original Canned Dog Food, 12.3-oz. Is this safe to feed my 4-year-old Boxer? I can't tell if these cans were recalled or not. So I'm posting here to get some answers. Thank you in advance.
