I’m looking for a dog trainer who also specializes in service dog training, and I found one 40 minutes away from me. I’m a bit skeptical because I’m not entirely sure if they actually TRAIN the dogs to behave on leash. I noticed that in the photos most of the dogs had tools. So I asked the trainer if she uses tools and she said “I keep everything as positive as we can as we want our dogs to work for us because they love us. I use gentle leaders, training collars and martingale collars”. My pup is a bit over 5 months though he is a bigger puppy. I’m just not sure if this is right? Thoughts? I would like my dog to be able to behave with just a flat collar. Although my pup may need some dog and people excitement help with pulling. Northern Indiana Service Dogs

private sessions are $30 for an hour on the weekends, and it’s what you start with, she said eventually I’ll be allowed to join the group classes.
