Buying a puppy from a breeder COI question

@dynaramaurer I would go to the national poodle club of America website and chose from their breeders referral list.It sounds like your dealing with a backyard breeder. It’s not worth the risk.

Cane Corso X Doberman Pinscher mix: Canis Panther

@gracenotworks Sounds like backyard breeders creating more structural and temperamental train wrecks just to end up in shelters.

    @natalieraye Doodle breeders are shady.

    doodle studs and furnishing genes

@lumiere The way breeding rights work is when you get your dogs registration through the kennel club that represents the breed. You either get limited registration which means no breeding rites or full registration which gives you breeding rites. You can still breed the dog but it will not be able...

    Registered AKC Golden (M)

@ekim Plenty of puppy mills have AKC registered dogs that doesn’t make a dog breeding quality.Proper testing along with titles proves a dog moves correctly and is a candidate for breeding.

    Registered AKC Golden (M)

@ekim Has he been OFA certified? Unless he has certifications of Hips Elbows eyes and heart first he should not be bred And should have never been bred in the first place. It doesn’t matter that he was bred before or what a vets opinion is.Diagnostics are what matters.Breeding a pet quality...

    doodle studs and furnishing genes

@lumiere A Doodle isn’t a breed and is not recognized by any kennel club so therefore there is no registration limited or otherwise. So anyone can buy one and breed it regardless of its soundness and their competence.

Help I don’t know if a dog breeder is fake!

@fruitman33 Looks like a backyard breeder to me. No information on health testing titles no pictures of the sire and dam. I would contact the Burmese mountain dog club the America through their website and find their breeders referral list.

@tendery I don’t support hyper type breeding of amstaffs

    Ethical Breeding

@tendery I didn’t mean Bull terrier.Imeant all the bull and terrier breeds. The Amstaff is not basically a bully. It is first and foremost a Terrier and is a very healthy breed.
  13. C

    Ethical Breeding

@tendery People need to keep their greasy hands off the Amstaff!!! Leave all the bull and terrier breeds alone. They need to be preserved and not suffer the fate of BYB doodling culture

Just discovered Australian retrievers, but can’t find much in my area

@sspx_teen I think OP BYB’s these and just wants to hype

How likely that a reputable breeder missidendifies the breed? Like 0%?

@carlawalker Registered doesn’t mean well bred most backyard breeders use registered pet quality dogs. You will notice when you read the dam and sire’s pedigree they will not have titles in front of their name’s proving they are sound enough to be bred.

How likely that a reputable breeder missidendifies the breed? Like 0%?

@carlawalker No cocker spaniel breeder with quality genetics would allow their dogs to be backyard bred and also no poodle breeders with quality genetics would allow it either. So you’re starting with backyard bred low quality dogs and then mixing them together.

Is it overkill to pay 3500 for a well health tested puppy from a show breeder when I’m not into showing?

@home4good Oh I see you mean off standard faults. That is true but that’s different then the “exotic” nonsense that goes on in in BYB circles.

Is it overkill to pay 3500 for a well health tested puppy from a show breeder when I’m not into showing?

@home4good Huge red flag only back yard breeders charge different prices for colors. No one in the Great Dane club of America website breeders list would charge more for colors.
