    Food suggestion/ questions

@common2man I agree with going with wasva compliant foods, which are iams, purina, hills, and royal canin. I personally like purina pro plan and purina one the best, but have had good experiences with royal canin though they can be more pricey.

Truth about working as a bather at Petsmart

@dennis1209 Yeah they were sued for that contract because it’s technically illegal for any company to make you pay for training they make you go through.

Hello dog looking for kibble recommendations for mu 6mo akita

@simplyhis I would try purina pro plan large breed puppy food. I’ve heard good things about their pro plan puppy line and purina pro plan is overall really great

Is a #10 shave for convenience ok?

@dtrpogod No issues, it’s not any better or worse than any other length (as long as there’s no matting present), it should be fine. I would just make sure if they’re lighter colored (white dogs, especially) you be careful taking them outside for too long during sunny or overcast days as they can...

How much would you charge for this beautiful boy?

@cazamal Huskies are generally small like that. The breed standard for males is 40-60lbs. Generally it should be about 70or more. At petco, a deshed and bath for that dog would be about 80$

Where did your newly spayed dogs poop/pee during post op

@poindexterpaul I would still take them outside to go to the bathroom but refrain from letting them run around free outside/lay outside. Your vet probably meant that they shouldn’t be allowed outside unsupervised or to a place like a dog park or doggy daycare for 5 days as they could...

Clipper Burn - Am I overreacting?

@heaven91 Omg this is super bad. Poor thing. Go somewhere else, I’ve shaved matted dogs a lot over the last couple months and I’ve only ever nicked them when I was feeling rushed or their were wiggly.. and even then, I couldn’t imagine doing that and not telling the owner. Also, burns happen but...

My dog Is starting to worry me

@19nanny55 Did the groomer perchance give him a sanitary trim around his butt? Some dogs will act differently after getting one. If not, I would take him to the vet. It might be his anal glands

    Blood in stool

@oursimpleife Blood in the stool after diarhea is serious, but it can probably wait until morning when your vet opens. Dogs are prone to blood in diarhea when they have it for extended periods of time as it upsets their stomaches unless you’re worried about something could’ve eaten it’s not...

How are corporate groomers doing 15+ dogs a day?

@welcometothejungle89 Yeah I could definitely see myself doing 8 dogs if I only worked three 10 hr shifts but I don’t think I could do 12, that’s just way too much, I’d throw my back out lol

How are corporate groomers doing 15+ dogs a day?

@welcometothejungle89 I work at petco and we am average of about 6 dogs per groomer at the salon I work at and everyone works 8 hr shifts, there’s some days where we do more but it’s not often. Honestly doing 10+ dogs every day is just too much to maintain a long term career, the money might be...

How much would you charge for this beautiful boy?

@islamforchristians The breed standard is even 40-60 for males, I don’t understand this either

Dog whining in the middle of the night- new behavior

@ferney962 I second ignoring this behavior but if it continues for more than a couple more days I would consider maybe getting a checkup at the vet to make sure he isn’t experiencing any pain. It might be a long shot but when my pup has a uti and bladder stones she would whine at night

    Safe coffee-flavored dog treats?

@mr_mcbride I would go with stinky treats. You’re probably not gonna find any treats that smell like coffee but if he likes the smell, he probably is just attracted to very pungent smells.

1099 vs W-2, thoughts?? Very long, sorry lol

@madphil 1099 can not be given to an employee. If you are an employee it is illegal for them to do that.

1099 vs W-2, thoughts?? Very long, sorry lol

@teenchill A w9 would be given to independent contractors, I would report them. This is illegal. A w2 is for employees.

    Cytopoint?

If that doesn’t find anything, I would ask your vet about prescribing a medication like apoquel or Benadryl.

    Cytopoint?

@wifikitten I would ask your vet about doing a food elimination trial (allergy lab tests don’t work well) to see if she’s allergic to something in her food

1099 vs W-2, thoughts?? Very long, sorry lol

When you fill out as a 1099 you are also not an employee, you are a contractor, think doordash where you are your own boss and you make you’re own hours. You are not “employed” as an independent contractor, you are self employed. This is why this is illegal to have you fill this out.

1099 vs W-2, thoughts?? Very long, sorry lol

@teenchill A w 2 is supposed to be filled out only if you’re an employee. They can not make you fill out a 1099 unless you are a contractor, but yes, you would be filing out a 1099 if you were an independent contractor. You can not be a contractor in this regard though because it is illegal...
