Looking for tips from other groomers who have dealt with Lagottos and their crazy owners…

Idea just popped in, why not get a towel or pet robe, soak it in really diluted leave in conditioner, and have the pet wear it after the groom? Maybe for 10-15 minutes? That should curl em back up

Looking for tips from other groomers who have dealt with Lagottos and their crazy owners…

@cicion Ngl, I'd pry do something between the common doodle/teddybear & a bichon head, with a carrot style tail. I'm a crazy poodle lady, not a crazy lagotto lady 😜

E and C combs are not short!!

@lutheranandproud I had a doodle owner beg me to use my longest guard comb (2"). I did, the first few times but she was realizing how much work it was to keep them long, and before I knew it, she was asking to go shorter, and shorter, and shorter, till the dog was 1/2"-3/8".

    oMg SHE’S so uGLy!! [rant]

@flint1952 My experience has been that the owner's of poodles typically know what they are getting into when getting their poodle and understand the amount of work their coat calls for. Doodle owners however, either fall under the overly entitled karen crowd that are in it solely for the...

Lies the doodle breeder told them…(feel free to add your own)

@dmscotland Yikes! That's awful, I had a client rehome their aussie doodle cuz it was just too hyperactive for them. She wasn't awful on the table, but she was insanely wiggly, and even after months (almost a year) of seeing her every 2-4 weeks, she still could not hold still.

Owner question - solution for very dry skin

@sacm Most of the time, during vet school, they only get maybe 30 minutes to an hour total of nutrition discussion. And these big companies like purina & hills provide free food to the vet students, so they build trust & a positive association. These companies are willing to take the initial...

Owner question - solution for very dry skin

@frankems21 Eh, that's why I unsubscribed from the dogs forum. I feed my personal dogs Orijen, and I felt like I was constantly attacked there.

    considering a spoo

@jwfletch I have two SPoos. I keep my girl in a fifth Avenue and my boy in a German trim. The best thing with poodles is you can do whatever you want with their coat. They are also one of the few breeds that don't suffer adverse effects from being taken short. I will add, it can take up to...

Owner question - solution for very dry skin

@pekka Another thing you could look into would be antifungal shampoo, since there may be an underlying yeast issue. It's often exasperated by diet. So there could be a connection.

    considering a spoo

@synergist They don't even know. When I ask or pry for more details, and if the client is like "don't you know what a puppy cut is?" I pull out my books and show them the true clip. I then give a nice smile and ask "so this is what we're wanting on your maltise mix?" The karen typically...

    considering a spoo

@synergist Poodles have 2 "puppy clip"'s. One is the basic with clean face, feet, & pom tail with a longer, shaped body & a flat top line to show off the fullness of their puppy coat. The other is a "T- Lion puppy clip" which looks almost the same, but the hind quarter is shorter & sports more...
