@blackgold00 IMO- the BARE MINIMUM a doodle breeder should be doing is appropriate health testing. If she can’t provide you that info, I would walk away.

@saith Eh, AKC is just a breed registry- I caution against using AKC marketplace as the sole place of research. Plenty of BYB’s are AKC registered but that doesn’t make them ethical/good. Best bet is the country breed club.

@cranberry130 I’m not defending this breeder, but it is possible that the breeder was trying to keep puppy alive as long as possible. My guess is it was another unknown defect that led to the puppy passing- which could explain it passing at 6 weeks.

@wamiti CGC is great, but it’s a one a done event. Puppy’s as young as 6 months often pass. Personally, I don’t think this is enough of a title to prove structure/temperament of potential breeding dog.

@lovingmyhusband Honestly, it’s not uncommon for a dog to be sold on limited registration and then changed to full- especially if the dog turns out to be a great representation of the breed (health, titles, etc).

@kurat One step further- I would cross reference the recommended tested with that recommended by your national breed club. Often times the breed club will recommend more beyond what’s posted on OFA.
