My vet wants to charge $700 to get my puppy neutered, is that normal?

@imagebeastmarkbeast Yes that’s my only concern with looking at a shelter, it feels a little selfish to take from that— but then I wonder on the other hand if they could use the money I’d be providing… I’ll shop around at some vets and shelters! Thanks for the info

@hymnsong05 I was expecting more in the $250-400 range, 700 feels crazy. He’s a golden, will be a little over a year when we get him neutered

@theseeker2014 Interesting! That makes a lot of sense though if it might be an environmental allergen issue. We’ll try this first and see if it helps, thank you!

We did a week of that for my pup’s pink eye, and despite giving him all of the love and peanut butter during eye drops, he HATED them and it was a constant battle. My SO and...

She is usually great, but didn’t have an answer for us this time and said she could recommend an ophthalmologist if we wanted. She wasn’t too concerned about the issue...

My vet wants to charge $700 to get my puppy neutered, is that normal?

Seems pretty high to me and I hadn’t planned to budget that in for the year… Planning to shop around but no idea what I should be looking for, anyone have a price range? Given that animal shelters do this constantly on low budgets, I can’t imagine $700 per dog is the norm. Edit: I live in the US
