X-Post - Dog has red lump- Does this warrant a trip to the vet?

Thanks in advance! My 2yr dog has this red bump/lump/growth on the side of his nose, very close to his eye. It wasn't there at noon, but was when I arrived home from work around 5pm. He'd been inside all afternoon and not around any other animals.

I gently touched it and he didn't seem to mind. It looks dry. I'm just wondering if I need to go to a vet tonight, or give it a day? two days? He doesn't seem to mind at all.

Thanks everyone. I'm going to monitor it tonight and take him to the vet in the AM. It's reassuring to know I'm not overreacting!
