To those who got a 2nd dog; how long did it take the pair to bond and start interacting in a friendly way ?

Recently got a 5 month (F) pup, our older dog is 6 years old (M). It’s been a week they do not interact or play. Our elder dog is not v socialised and recently got him neutered. They play with us individually, but not with each other. Worried ….is it normal, all the utube videos of this I ve seen there is insta-love; tail wagging & cuddling

@marktime It can take months for them to become fully adjusted. I’d make sure you’re fostering positive interactions and giving the older dog plenty of one-on-one time without younger pup around so she doesn’t feel left out. Within a few weeks I think you’ll see a big difference!

@xcountryrunner33 Thanks, Leo still eyes the younger one as an intruder, watches her. We make sure to give them both, maximum pets, attention and care. It’s an interesting situation, seems like the trust Wud come before friendship

@marktime It honestly depends on the dog, my newest dog almost instantly got used to his new home here
