Puppy vaccination U.K

@alcamad I'm from France and here most vets and dog trainers recommend having puppies go for a walk and meet other dogs as soon as possible. They say puppies have some protection from their mothers and first jabs and it is very important for dogs to socialise when they are between two and four month old.
A few years ago vets recommended waiting for the puppy to be fully vaccinated but now they say it is more beneficial for a dog to be well socialised.
I guess most people in this sub are from the US, you could try and find some reports from vet organisations in the UK if you believe your vet might be wrong.

@alcamad I followed my vet and trainers recommendations, also this great book called “easy peazy puppy squeezy,” socialization is so important but the quality of the interaction is what seems to be the most valuable.. it’s just a balancing act between being cautious and building those positive associations with the world.
Our pup has turned out fine - only thing that actually scares her is dogs who bark a lot but she’s building confidence around that now too.

We also got our puppy a snuffle mat off amazon - we hide food and random things in it for her to find and dig out which really helps her get some of those digging and rooting urges out.

We also got some puppy training sessions that really helped us get on the right track, she loved the sessions and she’s a smart cookie!

I really hope you are able to work out a strategy that works for your family and puppy, I know it can be overwhelming…

I’m currently waiting for her kennel cough vaccination to be effective so she can start going to a puppy socialization group - so I understand you there. She’s desperate to play with other dogs but we haven’t found any that are her size AND friendly so we’ll have to wait for another week for the classes for now
