@brileemoot I would have added that the fact that you have not received any other complaints about other dogs getting pink eye from your shop from the same equipment is extremely odd. If you were doing something wrong, there would be more complaints….. especially after 3 weeks!
@brileemoot You handled this exactly right. If she called the next day sure maaaaaybe but no not three weeks! Who knows where her dog went in those three weeks
@brileemoot I would just ask what the vet said, or if you could talk to the vet. What was the diagnosis? Was it an eye inury? if so the vet can tell the difference between a scratch ( like from a piece of hair in the eye) vs a chemical burn ( from shampoo in the eye ) I'm not familiar with pink eye in dogs. Do they mean an eye infection? something that started as an injury and then became infected? Or a symptom of a wider issue like kennel cough and the eyes are also runny? Bottom line, did the vet say the problem was caused by the groom? if so, pay the bill or turn over to your insurance
@brileemoot "I got a huge vet bill today" --does that mean they went to the vet today, or they went to the vet in a timely manner and got the bill today?
@kawaiichristi Either one is bullshit. When is the last time you weren't made to pay the bill at the time of services? Vets don't mail out bills so you can pay them whenever.
@brileemoot To me it sounds like she saw the vet the next day but got her bill three weeks later. Usually vets tell you the cost upfront at the time.
My dog got a cold/infection every time she went to daycare/boarding (4 times). I knew I could have called the pet resort but to be honest i think it's my dogs lack of exposure. I'd never ask someone to pay my vet bill. Things happen!
