    What’s y’all’s biggest pet peeve?

@devincamary My biggest pet peeve is probably when owners coddle their dog and are like “omg she’s shaking, she’s so scared, its okay baby!!!” Like ma’am the dog will be fine I think it’s you that is having the anxiety here lol. I totally understand being anxious leaving your dog somewhere but...

    BuT iT's OnLy FiVe MiNuTeS

@mari79 I also would have allowed 5 minutes but it was obvious that she wasn’t actually going to be only 5 minutes late (they never are lol). People who get away with being late will do it over and over again. If someone complains you can always reply to the complaint nicely explaining that she...

[rant] You know who you are

@chris_1989 For real. A dog coming even 15 minutes late will put me behind the whole rest of the day. I could have had your dog washed and started drying in 15 minutes.

Overdid my dog’s double coat with a de-shedding tool

@lulubec Keep brushing his hair gently with a slicker brush to help stimulate hair growth. It should grow back eventually, but it may not be exactly the same as it was before. I wouldn’t worry about putting a shirt on him or anything unless he goes outside just to protect from the sun. For...

Staying in shape as a dog groomer?

@fig This!! Getting started is the hardest part. Once you are there and working out, you wake right up and it becomes easier the more you do it.

Staying in shape as a dog groomer?

@ffm1967 It sounds kinda harsh but you have to pretty much force yourself to make the time to workout. Its going to suck for the first couple of weeks, but you’ll get used to it and it will become easier! When i first started as a groomer at Petsmart I worked 7-4. I got up at 5 every morning to...

This may be a silly questions but longer length on the legs grooms

@andreamk0713 Yes ^ i never ask before i do it hahaha they never notice. I usually just do whatever I think will look best/be best for the dog unless the owner is super specific with what they want 😬

This may be a silly questions but longer length on the legs grooms

@kate22 Not a silly question at all. Personally I always like to do 1 length longer on the legs because I think it looks cuter! So i’d say 1 length longer if the owner is not specific :) unless the dog has like super scrawny legs then maybe i’d do 2 lengths longer lol.

    Incidents

@broken1989 Seriously do not be so hard on yourself!! It happens especially for new groomers! I cut ears multiple times when i first started, and cut a puppies pad so bad it needed stitches :( we learn from our mistakes, it sucks in the moment but it makes us better. And i promise you the dogs...

Why is grooming so hard in every way? Advice on my prob please or idk.

@lovejoyhope If you are struggling to save money screw what everyone else thinks! You need to do whats best for YOU. Its work you aren’t there to make friends. Sometimes standing up for ourselves makes us the “bad guy” or “difficult “ but I promise once you get what you need it will be worth it...

Let's talk sprays. Finishing, scissoring, drying, texturizing, etc

@gifford26 I use either CC Ice on Ice spray before i blow dry or Best Shot ultra maxx finishing spray, both are great!! I love all the artero sprays. I use their anti static spray the most especially on drop coats/yorkies and the pink shiny coat spray for double coated dogs. I like igroom...
