    dog nasal discharge advice

@mrnice1234 What my vet dismissed as allergies ended up being nasal cancer. What started as unilateral weeping in one eye and being a little snotty turned into occasional nosebleeds and a massive snotting issue out of one nostril. Did your vet check if the other nostril was obstructed? You can...

    Dog killed a rabbit

@joy Unless they were "playing 'possom" for days, they were pretty dead, lol.

    Dog killed a rabbit

@iahawkette She just didn't give it a break. We had the entire event on camera, it's was about 45 minutes long. She played with it the same way she plays with the barn cat, a lot of pawing. Her "job" was watching the chickens. The one that died got out of its enclosure (which almost never...

    Dog killed a rabbit

@armah It's quite common. My old dog herded/played with a bunny to death, and killed a few possums. Recently, my brother's heeler played-to-death one is their chickens. The only health issue I'd be worried about is parasites if it ate it. Maybe also lepto, but I assume he's vaccinated for that...

Has anyone’s dog had a sore like this on their leg?

@niv80 They're fairly common and can be hard to treat if the dog keeps licking them, unfortunately. Can take 2-3 weeks to heal, but need to be covered, etc.

Was told my dog had cancer, but actually it was just a UTI

@mc_squared Conversely, I had a very sick doggo and after 6 vet visits (and being sent home with antibiotics etc) I decided to go to a different vet. They diagnosed her with metastatic cancer in 20 minutes. My dog died 2 weeks later. Over a decade later, I'm still furious at the old vet for...

Large doberman initiated play with small dog and it went wrong

@pammarie I mean, if it's your word vs. their no word about what happened since they weren't there to witness it, then that's that. If your dog was being chill with other dogs and reacted negatively to the behavior of another dog, I'd say the other dog did something to initiate it. I've also...

Should I ask my vet about my dog seeming hungrier lately?

@nikki1445 There's nothing wrong with giving the dog more food if it seems hungry and it's at a healthy weight and stays at a healthy weight. Maybe try some veggies like broccoli and carrots? The few older/more senior dogs I've dealt with, they tend to get more fussy about being fed the older...
