@rohsalkeiv According to my vet it does depending on the expected size of the dog at adult age and the research that I did probably for way too long. Everyone should have all the information on both the positives and negatives on when to fix or to not fix at all to make an informed decision.

@curtis697 I don’t have a cat…. But I have a 13 year old chihuahua that is is like a cat basically behaviorally. I got a hound mix puppy, also has a lot of prey drive. Well they did not get along at Frist. I thought it would be bad forever but after a year it is so much better!

Plus if that did happen I would take full responsibility, pay for the care that the female would need, and care for the puppies as if it was my dog that gave birth to them.

@rigogpu I know it was common to just fix early, but more research is being done. But that being said, if course there is a chance that there might be long term issues, but there is a chance that nothing will happen!

@j101814 Well if you didn't purchase her from the shelter there isn't anything that they can do! I personally hate the pressure there is to castrate the puppies, and the negativity that happens if you don't! Plus you have the female! So it would really be up to you on what happens to the puppies...

@j101814 Yeah from what I've read the giant breeds it is reccomended for about 18-24 months.
