Adopted a 6 1/2 year old ACD, having troubles

@freeinchristjesus A couple things I might try. First, more mental stimulation. Puzzles are good, I give usually feed mine both her meals in a food dispensing toy. Trick/obedience training could also help. Second, you might want to teach a good settle and capture calmness to teach him to calm...

2-3 year old red male almost snapped at me this morning

@crisko777 A video would definitely help in trying to read the situation. But it's also usually advised to try as best we can to prevent situations in which we think the dog will likely exhibit unwanted behavior, such as growling. 2-3 year old red male almost snapped at me this morning

Does your dog sleep in your bed?

@inneed1012 Was the trainer talking about reactive dogs in general? (Which is what it sounded like to me). I don't think there's any good basis for disallowing furniture for reactivity in general (or the mentioned separation anxiety, for that matter). How is setting that boundary supposed to...

Just wanted to give a recommendation for a really good R+ Youtuber

@pastorjustin I'm sure there are many examples, but Shade Whitesel is probably one of the best if you want to see some impressive heeling. Or are you looking specifically at real world reactivity results?

"Kicking the Dog: The endorsement of hegemonic masculinity predicts the endorsement of aversive training methods"

@joshuawithmartin * Shocked Pikachu Face * This is super interesting work though, thanks for sharing!

"Kicking the Dog: The endorsement of hegemonic masculinity predicts the endorsement of aversive training methods"

@huey507 You seem to be talking past each other. The commenter inferred that you were referring to Millan's aversive training methods, not merely management tactics. And your assumption that R+ means rule-free and anti-muzzle is an odd one.
