Recs fo brain teaser toys for an older dog?

For background, I adopted my 9 y/o mutt named Chance last summer when I was living with my parents in the suburbs for a year. He isn't really into toys but loves to play fetch with a rawhide in the yard. He also just loves laying out in the yard and sniffing around. I have since moved to an apartment and feel guilty that he doesn't have the yard anymore, so his activities are limited to the walks we take (usually 30-45 min in the AM, and 45-60 min in the PM, and a quick 15 minutes before bed). I'm worried that he's bored during the day (I do work from home though and take many petting breaks); are there any toys out there that are more like a brain teaser?

@gypsysong Hide and seek: close him in one room while you hide treats around another area. Then let him out to hunt down the treats.
