Hello r/backpackingdogs, I was wondering about rattlesnake vaccines. My dog (4 year old Pitt mix) and I live in the foothills of LA County and hike together weekly both in LA and Inyo County (where she is originally from). I never had her vaccinated while living up north and never really gave it much thought, now however I'm feeling guilty and nervous and am wondering if I should get her the shot. We've come across rattlesnakes in the past and she paid zero attention to them but I'm also not entirely sure she noticed them.
Is the vaccine something you would recommend I get her or is it not necessary?
