My dog is kidnapping puppies

So after my jog this morning I pulled up to my drive way and saw my dog running from my neighbors house with one of her puppies in his mouth, this puppy is probably 7 weeks old. My mother said he's done something similar before a long time ago but I've never seen it. Has this ever happened to anyone before ? Do you know why he's doing it ?

N.B just to note, he's the father of the puppies but we've never taken him to meet them or anything like that maybe he wants custody

@sarahsioux His wife probably took him to court for child support after a messy marriage full of lying and cheating. So he figured hey these kids are half mine and I’m paying for them so I’m going to take them.

Yes Iv seen this before but not in dogs.
