Kidney failure senior dog and pill pocket question

My senior toy poodle ( 16 yo ) has been diagnosed with kidney failure, anemia and hypothyroidism. What is a safe pill pocket? Currently using string cheese and greenies pill pocket ( peanut butter ) for his Azodyl. Any recommendations please? He is also on hill’s diet rx for k/d. Thank you

@samanthalynn Does his prescription food come in wet food? I give my dogs pills wrapped in their wet food.

@samanthalynn A pill pocket is fine for treats. Just split them up and cover the treat as needed. The main thing to worry about is a consistent kidney diet as the bulk of his nutrition. Don’t stress a couple treats a day in these pups, as their appetite can already be finicky as is.
