Don't know if I should have a dog

I (55m) have had a chiweenie for about 6 months. She is 8 months old. This is the first dog I have had that was just mine. I am single and work m-f. I come home for lunch everyday. I love her and would do anything for her but I can't help but think she would be better off with someone else. Every whine I think something is wrong. I was thinking of getting her a playmate. Either adopt or buy. Also she was a gift. I want her. Just keep thinking I am not enough for her

@chrysalis_me For me, it is not a home without a dog. As for the time alone, are there any doggy daycares available nearby ? Or perhaps a dogwalker ?

@humble91 The doggy daycare I want is closed for remodeling. Be a few months before they are open

@chrysalis_me Of course, another solution is to retire (early perhaps) and spend the free time with your puppy.
