Dog nail, bad to worse?

Hi all,

The other day I posted about an issue my dog was having here, since then we were doing a routine nail filing (using our dremel per usual) and all of a sudden his nail sort of popped off, almost like his nail had a shell on it!

I readjusted the nail so it's covering up the inside part so it's no longer exposed but looking for advice but leaning towards a vet visit tomorrow but obviously trying to avoid unnecessary visits due to covid.

@livelyhope without the nail over the quick it will just dry up. if it isn’t bothering him or actively bleeding i would put the vet visit off for a bit.. even if it does bother him, you can wrap it up for a few days so he doesn’t mess with it
