Dog licking skin topicals

Hi all. I was recently advised by my dermatologist to start the use of an OTC Ivermectin topical to treat my rosacea caused by demodex mites. The cream is 0.5% strength and I would be applying a thin layer to my face nightly. My 5 mo. 7 lb. Shih Tzu sleeps in my bed with me at night. I am a little paranoid about him licking the cream off my face or sheets. I know how dangerous Ivermectin ingestion can be in dogs. My question is, will this cause toxicity to my dog in the event he does lick? Or am I just being crazy? TIA

@squeaker12345 Could you apply it well before bed? Like after dinner if you’re not going out again. And then it should be absorbed pretty much before getting into bed?
