Dog food shelf life

I had a bag of dry dog food delivered on December 13 and it got stuck in my apartment’s parcel delivery locker until yesterday (42 days). I live in Florida, so it hasn’t really been winter temperatures here - in that time frame we’ve ranged from 20 degrees F to 85, sunny, rainy, humid dry. The food was delivered In it’s original bag and then a cardboard box. The box looks ok, not wet or moldy looking.

Is there any chance this food is usable? If it doesn’t immediately smell or look moldy, is there another way to tell if something is wrong with it? I know the bags aren’t air tight. My instinct is to just walk it straight to the dumpster… but that’s a lot of money in the trash … but not so much that it’s worth potentially making my dogs sick.

@deegee823 If it was rancid you could tell from the smell (coming from someone who received rancid bags twice). The smell is overpowering and similar to vomit. If it smells ok I would try it in small amounts and see how your dog’s poop is lol
