Today I am sharing how the sizing of higher end dog crates compare. Importantly with this table, I am comparing the interior size of the crate, not the exterior size. The interior size is more reprehensive to what's required for the size of dog occupying it.

A few notes:
- Sizing of crates by external length is bad at best and manipulative of buyers at worst. Crates should advertise their max interior length available to the dog, rather then exterior dimensions. This is less of a problem for wire crates, and more of a problem for plastic crates with thick walls and wide bumper’s required by airlines.
- Gunner should make their kennels larger, but they won’t because then they loose their structural integrity claims. The larger you go with plastic, the more likely failure is. They make some of the strongest claims in the industry, and I don’t think they want to back those down at all.
- The larger sized dogs are underserved as far as larger plastic high end crate options.
- Ruffland should make a 48in-50in interior crate. The people want it, there’s demand for it.
- Dakota 238 should also make a 700 size and 700+ size. Otherwise, no complaints, they are probably the best manufacturer on this list as far as quality.
