I went on a long drive with my 11 year old dog a few months ago and poor guy was shaking, drooling, and a huge mess about 2 hours into the ride (he had never had an issue in cars before that).
Since then he slowly went back to having no issues with car rides (after drivinig up to an hour) though on certain routes he somehow gets back in that anxiety stage.
I have some trazodone and gave him 50mg earlier today 1.5 hours before a ride that gives him anxiety--and it seemed to have 0 effect on him--he was shaking and panting like crazy shortly in.
Should I try upping the dosage--the vet's notes say he should take 1 - 1.5 pills (75mg in this case), or perhaps give him some the night before if that helps?
