  1. Chicken dog bone treat
Ingredients

• 1 cup chicken broth
• Quarter cup olive oil
• 1½ cup flour (whole wheat)
• 1½ teaspoon dry yeast
• 1½ cup whole wheat flour
• 1½ cup white flour (unbleached)
• Quarter cup oat bran or oat bran cereal
• 2 teaspoons chicken bouillon
• 1 cup chopped and cooked chicken (can be canned chicken)

Preparation

• Place all these ingredients in a bread maker
• Set bread machine on “Dough”
• When the dough is ready, take it out and divide it up into 3 parts
• Roll each one into a sheet with a rolling pin. Should be around 1/8-inch thick for smaller bones, ¼-inch thick for bigger bones and ½-inch for the longer bones that are about 5 inches long.
• Cut the bones with a cutter making sure it’s got plenty of flour on so the dough doesn’t stick
• Bake the bones at 275 F. The small bones will only take a few minutes with the larger ones taking about an hour and 15 minutes or so.
• Turn oven off and leave the bones in the oven to stay overnight or for a few hours. The bigger bones will take a bit longer than the small ones to dry. They should be crispy hard when ready.
• You can store them at room temperature for some months in a cool and dry place. Keep in a refrigerator in an airtight container if you want them to last even longer.
