1.5 y/o Red Heeler biting/nipping ppl wearing specific clothing

My Heeler is very nice to most people. However I have noticed when she sees men wearing work boots or suit pants her immediate reaction is to bite. Ik this is part of her bearding instinct but I don’t want her to bite someone who doesn’t understand animals and get in trouble. She also has a propensity to distrust ppl if she first encounters them wearing a mask. I’ve only seen her nip two people both were wearing suit pants/slacks. She also hates our maintenance guy for some reason. I think it’s cause he’s always loud when he comes to fix something.

@joycanbeyours My heeler is 20 months and has started nipping ALOT and becoming very protective. If my father leans in to kiss my mom, the dog will go straight for him.

@joycanbeyours Mine likes to go after work boots too! And gloves. I think it's because the maintenance guy at work plays rough with him and doesn't care if he goes after his boots/gloves.

He also hates anything that slides... Brooms, shovels, mops, vacuums....

Yours might not like the maintenance guy in your house because he's in your house, mine's very protective of his space (which is anywhere I am)

@joycanbeyours When I first got my dog (as a 3yo rescue) he hated all boots and all hats. Now he just occasionally takes an issue with certain hats.
