    Barking

@jamn4god Here's a different type of solution, one that controls you instead of the dog: sit in your car. That's what I do for really important meetings, where I need to be 100% sure my dog won't bark. My house internet even reaches me when I'm in the car in the driveway. But if you need to...

    Advice/encouragement on adopting senior ACD

@trying1tohelp1 I adopted an 8 year old ACD who is now 12 and is just so wonderful, and still very perky and energetic. We go on walks every day and she still likes to play with dogs at the dog park, guard the house, and follow me everywhere. Older dogs are so sweet, it's a Blessing to adopt one

Will my life suit a cattle dog?

@rainbowdreamer One thought I have about being athletic yourself and hoping that a cattle dog fits into that is... a lot of times it doesn't. @paidiske I wasnt insinuating anything about you and your dog, as i don't know you or your situation. Im sure you are attuned to your dogs needs and it sounds like a very loving home. However, someone, like OP, who sets out to get a dog that can be a "backyard-only" dog, and who has never...

Will my life suit a cattle dog?

@rainbowdreamer They can, but that doesn't mean they should. I think there's a lack of enrichment and social connection going on there that isn't ideal for an ACD. They want to be with their people, needed/involved, and they want to use their brains.

First time ACD owner, tips on exercise and schedule for the puppy?

@honganh94 Sounds great, honestly I think he's a very lucky furball! Just be careful of over-exercising a puppy. Can harm their joints and/or bones, and they don't know when to stop.

New ACD owner and would love some advice!

@larryk113 can you say a little more how you got your dog started doing this? I would love to try with my dog, but I'm unsure how to begin.

Our Dot - I always thought of her as one of a kind

@beautifultruth She sounds so cute and self-possessed and unique. I think you were both lucky to have each other. It's so sad to think of losing them, I think its sweet that you miss her and wanted to tell us about her. RIP to your sweet girl.
