    @samantham Agreed. That's why I never say ruin, just change. Plus most dogs are inside 90% of the time anyways, so really being "exposed to the elements" is not the huge danger owners think it is usually.

    @pixelneko A blow out (or "deshed") will make sure all of the dead hair is being removed as her coat grows, which will basically clear the way for the new growth.

IME I have a lot of owners who come in with double coated dogs and say "trim her short all over" but really mean "just trim her feathers...
