    Female in heat

@peterrajum I’d separate her from other dogs, some bitches get cranky and short tempered, why put her in that situation ?

For those on a budget, what dna test do y’all choose?

@marinaamz29 No worries, I often just buy the individual tests first DM when I’m testing a litter of pups. Most times you get a discount for buying more than one, especially around this time of year.

For those on a budget, what dna test do y’all choose?

@marinaamz29 Depends, does your breed need full panel? Wisdom and Embark panels often include tests for things that aren’t relevant to your breed. You can purchase individual tests from places like GenSol and PawPrint genetics. On the flip side for my breed GSD the panels don’t include pituitary...

@fruitman33 Join active breed groups and ask about their reputation, you can also seek out other owners as well. But yeah, health testing at minimum is a must with this breed.

Ultrasound has puppies, X-ray showed nothing, done at the end of week 8!

@chiamoni It’s best to x-ray around day 55-ish. It might have been too early, does the UC still show pups?

    Breeding

@kyachu So, I’m always open for people to return their dog judgement free. Getting my pups back and knowing they’re safe is worth it. I’m willing to buy the dog back if that’s what it takes. I’ve driven hours to get them back. A tip is to have your information as the secondary contact on the...

    Mothers attitude after puppies

@chromechris My dog will tolerate the four people she’s closest with interacting with her pups. No one else is tolerated until the pups are older and she is firm in this boundary.

@drsharles As a last resort offering to buy the dog back can also persuade the difficult ones.

    First time tips?

@4uallpraise If the bitch is dog social and has not shown any issues I’d let them do their thing naturally, once they tie I would leash both dogs to keep them from moving around too much(especially if you have one that’s trying to walk around everywhere).

    Puppy constipation

@lovinjesus Are you supplementing them as well? Sometimes you need to add more water to the mix to help them digest it better.
