    @brentley4u I’m with you. I have two dogs, one cuddle bug and one independent loner. Neither is likely to spend time with someone that’s sad unless they are going to sadly take them on a long walk.

    @mamckay41 We got our pup at about 18 weeks. All the things you’ve described are huge advantages… knowing the personality is a fit alone is tremendous. I think you’ll really enjoy your older pup :) Just keep in mind the 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months rule… the pup will certainly take some time...

    When did you feel comfortable leaving your dog unattended?

    @amarekanne Ours started spending time unattended while we were in the house at about 6 months. We got her at 4 months, so she had less time with us than many at that point. That said… it all depends on the dog! Our pup is quite independent and while she’s super confident about dog things...
