Help! My wife and I brought out dog to quarantine with her family, and he's being aggressive with their dog and HER DAD :(

@anglic9823 Without knowing what was going on during each incident theres not much advice anyone can give. But the best advice for now is - whatever was triggering each snap should stop. Keep in mind that everyone is more stressed right now and dogs can literally smell that. It will make the...

How to know if it's too much or too little exercise (newly adopted dog)

@chosenbeforetime Good job trusting your gut! Pinch collars use pain to force a dog not to pull, but dont actually teach anything. This is a whole playlist of leash walking training tips - and you can start right away. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7287C737FB745168 This one is about...

How to know if it's too much or too little exercise (newly adopted dog)

@tracey4g Be experienced as you want. A dog theyve had less than a week doesnt belong off leash at a dog park. You bringing a new dog to the daycare, where you know what dogs are easy greeters, have control of the space and is fenced is not the same thing. ETA: if you took a new dog to a dog...

How to know if it's too much or too little exercise (newly adopted dog)

@tracey4g OP taking their brand new dog to run off leash is not a good idea. They don't know the dog well enough yet, and the dog hasn't had time to build trust.

My (22,F) very aggressive dog (1.5 y.o. Labrador mix, M) has bitten me several times and it breaks my heart

@prayer_warriorinprogress If youre aware that he bites when startled awake its time for him to sleep in a kennel. If thats his most common bite its a very simple way to immediately reduce the issue.

Advice for a Dog at the End of Life

@ivi67 It will be hard, but for me its been important to be there. Many vets will give a light sedative first, followed by the euthanasia medication in a few minutes. There isn't likely to be much fuss. If your pup is active they may take him to the back to insert an IV, and then use that to...

Niece wants to go on vacation for 3 days and leave dogs in a crate

@zakir500 TBH, that doesnt necessarily reflect on their level of care. Ive worked in a few dog daycares and some dogs just arent suited to it. Even if they're kept solo (which kind of defeats the point, but was necessary in some cases) the sounds and smells of other dogs was enough to keep them...

My dog needs surgery, what kind of options do we have?

@michellegen34 If the evet did scans you can have those forwarded over to the new clinic. There may be a cost, but it's usually free or less than $30 - which means they won't have a reason to duplicate those tests. I usually ask for the results or any scans to be emailed to me, so I can then...

    Gash on pups leg

@marciemay Not every cut needs stitches, and on the wrong sort of cut stitches can actually hold infection in and make things worse. Many cuts need to drain, so looking gross doesnt necessarily mean they havent done what needs done for treatment.

My dog needs surgery, what kind of options do we have?

@michellegen34 Look into CareCredit. They specifically give money for vet care, and you pay it back like a credit card.

My dog seems to be getting worse after seeing a vet

@audyolo Id suggest posting this in r/ask vet Youll have more luck with critiquing the vets recommendations there.
