    @mathetes66 OP didn't say that...he intends to have the dog with him pretty much all the time. We're in Australia so in terms of having a dog outside to sleep in a kennel (with appropriate shelter options available) rather than crate training is perfectly normal and acceptable in Australia.

    @mathetes66 I'm not sure if it was intentional, but I feel like you're insinuating that we don't provide enrichment or social connection for our ACD. The reality of owning any dog is that there will be times when they have to be left somewhere, and it's ok to train them to be on their own...

    Need advice. Possibly losing my girls front leg

    @samoisus Friends of mine foster and a lot of rescue dogs from up north Canada end up losing a leg thanks to car accidents (which is usually how the dogs are caught for rescuing in the first place) Never seems to be an issue once the dogs get used to being a tripod they live their best life.
