    How to get my GSD to stop startling me?

    @alhale If she doesn’t stop quickly on her own, I assume my girl wants me to see something. So I go look. She then stops barking almost immediately. (Her job—at least for the moment—is done. Something upset her, she got my attention, and then the problem was resolved by my checking things out.)

    @anonymousbl You should still try a large Kong ball. (The mediums are a little too small.) GSDs have extraordinarily powerful jaws. While I can make it squeak with some effort, my 7-year-old female GSD delights in giving it 2 or 3 squeaks each time she catches it.

    Question about treats

    @martina1 Ask your vet for suggestions. They often have vegetable-based treats in their counter that they hand out to patient pups. I suspect those would be fine, but none of my dogs would ever eat one.
