Partner and I took on 2 pups from the same litter. Week 2…

@beaconlight94 You wanted tips so here’s a few — enjoy the double zoomies and wrestling matches! I bought 50 foot Biothane long leads so mine can follow a hunting dog around an acreage, wears them out quick! They have been swimming in the neighbor’s pool, they are regulars at the farm store...

Partner and I took on 2 pups from the same litter. Week 2…

@beaconlight94 There is debate whether littermate syndrome even exists. Get some input from people who have successfully raised puppies from the same letter or from the same age group, it is absolutely not all doom and gloom. There are two of you so that will make it much easier, I am raising...

@survive777 Mine hang out together all the time and they think I hung the moon. I had a mobile groomer come last week and while one was in the truck the other one took a nap in my lap. Totally depends on the breed and the dog and the training but I wouldn’t have two dogs if I couldn’t keep them...

@survive777 This sounds sad. I get so much joy out of seeing mine discover the world together. They do eat separately in their crates but they happily do all those other things together. Is this a Frenchie thing?

@abrother Yep, keeping them separated would definitely not be for me. My two are way too happy together to want to mess that up.

@roundspheal01 In 100s of articles and videos I have never seen that you are supposed to keep them out of sight of each other. Many sources say separate them for training but it is helpful if they can watch each other’s sessions.

@prsfan84 Can you point out where you saw this? I have done a lot of research and have not seen this anywhere.

@beaconlight94 No, not a mistake, a challenging opportunity. I know several people who didn’t do anything special at all and raised adorable well-behaved littermates.

@roundspheal01 The parents of these puppies are titled, one in conformation and one in agility, but I don’t think that is as important as having all OFC testing done. (I didn’t mean to make it sound like AKC was everything, I admit I haven’t registered my pups.). I was able to watch the puppies...

@momovich1 No it isn’t, I have two AKC littermate puppies from a very reputable breeder and they are becoming well-adjusted adult dogs. Not all experts believe that littermate syndrome is even a thing.
