    No Health Testing

@christiancharacter Dogs without any health testing done should not be bred. She should not be producing any litters until the health testing is completed

    extruded food vs. gently baked

@marelize Regarding your edit; Unnecessary Ketogenic diets (doing the diet without it being explicitly prescribed by a nutritionist/dietician for specific disorders) are not even proven to be beneficial in us humans, let alone dogs. In fact, many reputable sources claim that it may potentially...

    Fading puppy syndrome?

@blackgold00 Yes, typically. Full health testing is expensive. Hips alone can cost hundreds of dollars, depending on your location. On top of this, with mix breed dogs, you need to test for BOTH breeds health issues, which may mean double or triple the cost just to test an f1b mix It’s sad to...

Treats for corgis and honorary corgi (Maltipoo)

@livinnlovin I completely get the worry man, I was in the same boat for a while! Hearing my dogs favorite treat was potentially carcinogenic was worrying as hell lol It was a huge relief when I found out that it poses virtually no risk I think it’s also important to remember that the testing...

Do your breeding females eventually get cancer?

@sqs1 I never said you were. All I said was that yes, the internet loves to over exaggerate the risk. I said why people believe that. I then provided an example of one of the craziest over exaggerations I’ve seen. Not once did I ever call you stupid. Not once did I ever say that the risk WAS...

Do your breeding females eventually get cancer?

@brennanskates Good. Genuinely, I am very glad that these people are so rare. They’re exhausting to deal with, and I wish they’d stop trying to speak on things they don’t understand. I hope these people die out. Or at least stay as rare as they are. Fear mongering about cancer and infection...

Treats for corgis and honorary corgi (Maltipoo)

@livinnlovin Ah I see the milk bone fearmongering has struck again. Let me guess; BHA? It’s important to remember with any ingredient that dose makes the poison. Absolutely everything our pets consume is deadly poison, at the right dose. Take chocolate, for example. Chocolate is, in general...

Do your breeding females eventually get cancer?

@brennanskates My entire point is that it isn’t 85%. I’ve repeated that several times. To repeat: It is anti-breeder “advocates” who are claiming that every single bitch has an 85% chance of developing pyo the second she goes into her first cycle. They’re intentionally overinflating the...

Dog gave birth to a still born an hour ago and hasn’t delivered any others yet should I be concerned

@gusbus Jesus man, that’s rough. I’m sorry you had to witness such an awful case of neglect Do you know what happened to the dog?

Do your breeding females eventually get cancer?

@andrew742 I’m aware it’s lifetime risk. Unfortunately, I’ve just spoken to a few extremely anti-breeding people who intentionally overinflated statistics to scare people into spaying their puppies as soon as medically possible They were also massive fans of PETA, so it’s safe to say they...

Do your breeding females eventually get cancer?

@andrew742 That 85% comes from people insisting it’s an 85% chance for cancer and pyo at the FIRST heat, and many say it goes up exponentially after The point is Moreso to show how ridiculous some of these claims can be, as if every single female had an 85% chance of getting cancer and dying...

Dog gave birth to a still born an hour ago and hasn’t delivered any others yet should I be concerned

@gusbus Why is your friend/friends family whelping a litter if they’re unable get this dog to the vet when she needs? I’m sorry man but it looks like either your friend or their family are extremely neglectful backyard breeders

Do your breeding females eventually get cancer?

@sqs1 I think it’s also important to remember that a lot of dog owners are likely to neglect their dogs reproductive health, especially with the lack of readily available/common information about keeping an intact female safe Most people I’ve met don’t even understand that you have to keep an...

Do your breeding females eventually get cancer?

@chaser1 I have heard that yes! I’m really looking forward to any coming research that investigates that more in depth I’d also be interested in research exploring the rate of pyo/cancer in well bred vs poorly bred dogs, though I know it’s unlikely to exist

Do your breeding females eventually get cancer?

@sqs1 It’s a heavy over-exaggeration on the internet’s part (mostly) Spaying before the first heat reduces the risk of reproductive cancers for two main reasons: 1) It’s hard to get cancer in an organ you don’t have 2) Spaying before the 1st heat does not give mammary tissue a chance to...

    Best natural dog kibble

@gettokimono From what I’ve heard talking to working/sport dog friends, Inukshuk is an incredibly high calorie food that’s commonly used for bulking muscle on dogs before a work or sport season

@old_orthodoxyusa Eugh, what a gross mindset. Are there any other sitting judges in the county? I believe you may be able to request an audience with them and see if they’ll review your case instead

    Help

@old_orthodoxyusa From your post, and the vet records, it doesn’t sound like your dog wanted to mate. It sounds like an out of control intact roaming male to try to breed Is it possible for you to submit the vet records of the testing proving she wasn’t in heat, and have your vet make a written...

Can someone just purchase two pure bred dogs (of the same breed) and mate them together and sell their puppies as pure breds for pure bred prices?

@smalltownyouthpastor They’d be purebred, but likely not well bred. Ethical breeders aren’t very likely to sell to someone who isn’t willing to adhere to the contract/backyard breed
