    Dog Training Post Attack

@ace111 They're a force free trainer that's obsessed with using different words rather than training dogs. They post bad faith megathreads every few months and refuses to answer questions

Should I take my dog off Nutrisource Weight Management?

@sevilodorf 1: if you're worried, consult your vet before changing diet 2: common sense would apply, gradually reduce the amount of food, not all in one day

Should I take my dog off Nutrisource Weight Management?

@lhthe It's amazing that dog food companies can sell "weight management" foods lol. Just feed less food

    Dog Training Post Attack

@airamnire Making your dog wait quietly in their place while you make their dinner is pretty standard training. Do you just feed your dog anyway if they're running around acting like a crackhead? Not for "every resouce" obviously, like water, but every activity is a training opportunity.

Herm Sprengrr 3.0 short or regular link?

@charids13 The collar on the dog, the only way I can picture it coming off is if it slips back when it's slacked out, or if it's bent incorrectly

@charids13 That's real weird, do you have a picture of it?

Herm Sprengrr 3.0 short or regular link?

@charids13 I still use the 2.25 on both my 70lb GSDs How is link coming off? It sounds like it might be too loose r/ProngCollarTooLow for resources

Do not use Farmer’s Dog! It can give your dog pancreatitis!

@givenallthings It's a very common misleading tactic, make an inferior product, then price it high enough to where people assume it must be high quality, and defend it because they spent a lot of money on it.

    Dog Training Post Attack

@rdmarita Sorry but a fighting dog breed biting a family member is an instant trip to the vet for a BE.

Is my lifestyle fit for a German Shepherd? Considering one in a couple years

@theslingstone I would wait until you're moved out and can find a place that allows GSDs, they're generally on the banned breeds list

Using a leash to check a dogs commitment to a position

@kpd Thank you actually! We tried some of this at training today and will definitely be using this drill going forward.

Using a leash to check a dogs commitment to a position

@kpd It should be dependent on who is handling the dog, but this is a common drill. I'll have a handler put the dog in a position, then have someone unknown try to coax the dog out of position, usually not with a leash but that's a good addition.

    advice please :(

@blapakona77 Yeah the only expectation you can have for that dog right now is that they'll make sure you get zero sleep for several weeks lol. Stay 100% consistent in your training, don't let the dog train you. Remember never to tell the dog not to do one thing without telling them to do...
