I don’t know how to tell people [kindly] not to touch or command my dog at the park

@brennanskates If the mounted dog was upset or otherwise stressed, I would of course pull mine off. I just would never touch someone else’s dog that was mounting.

I don’t know how to tell people [kindly] not to touch or command my dog at the park

@starlyn More often than not there is an exchange between the other owner and I. It’s always along the lines of “my dogs are super friendly, but they play a little rough.” Their response is “that’s fine “. It’s always case by case.

I don’t know how to tell people [kindly] not to touch or command my dog at the park

@starlyn This is probably the only comment of 50+ that makes sense to me. Thank you. My counter to that, and not a very big one is; if your dog is shy don’t bring them to the dog park. I feel like it’s the dogs time to play and be social. If your dog is in the corner, probably causing more...

I don’t know how to tell people [kindly] not to touch or command my dog at the park

@doctrineofgabriel That’s not the issue. You have the narrowest window into my life and decided to white knight for kids I don’t have nor want. Telling someone that they would raise a psychopath is unhinged.

I don’t know how to tell people [kindly] not to touch or command my dog at the park

@manaf It blows my mind that if the concept was that obvious, it could be that adult explained. All I’ve seen so far from people is “it’s rude” .

@manaf You’re not showing me anything. You’re just telling me that you have some experience.

I don’t know how to tell people [kindly] not to touch or command my dog at the park

@manaf I don’t think it is misbehaving though. It’s simply dogs being dogs. The Sedona point has it had is true, and I’m working with them the best I can. But at the park there isn’t really much training to be done. It’s time for them to be dogs ya know?

I don’t know how to tell people [kindly] not to touch or command my dog at the park

@noahhw46 I understand the argument; it could create a fight. I totally get that. The way I’m receiving it is that my dog is somehow vicious. I’m talking about play. The play biting, the play tackling, the play the play the play. I’ve talked about with my friend and he is on your side. I just...

@noahhw46 It’s been a couple. Not every other. It’s not a matter of hints, no one has explained it to me to in a way that makes sense.

I don’t know how to tell people [kindly] not to touch or command my dog at the park

@mister_kisses If your dog has those issues, it sounds like it’s a them issue. Socialize your dog maybe? Both mine are rescues and are well adjusted. Both were found on the street for a good time I’m told.

@mister_kisses My dog innocently mounts yours and then yours becomes aggressive, then it’s my fault? Idk man. My dogs be mounted a bunch and never had issues.

@jcvd Ok. I’ve kinda landed at this final spot: you’re going over to pull my dog off yours, for safety right? Would your presence escalate the matter?

@marciblue1 AGREED. I know when to stop that situation; where the play isn’t play and is now at the cusp of being an issue. Glad we can come to an alignment here.
