New dog trainer, about to meet my very first dog client. Where & how should we meet?

@erics What neutral locations are you thinking of? A public location seems to me, for most clients, to be more hazardous as you risk the dog getting loose, a loose dog approaching, random people trying to pet the dog, any number of triggers etc...

Are there any day-by-day training programs? (x-post from r/dogs)

@danicajav For that you can check kikopup on YouTube. She has a number of videos that break down tricks step by step. You could also check the trick list for do more with your dog. The list is broken down into levels, and if you want to start a project you can pick a higher level trick and...

New dog trainer, about to meet my very first dog client. Where & how should we meet?

@melissac Then I think you're actually underselling your experience. Your initial description made me think this was some kind of sketchy apprenticeship program that was printing their own graduation certificates. Just be honest with the owners about your experience and comfort level so their...

Are there any day-by-day training programs? (x-post from r/dogs)

@danicajav Day by day wouldn't really be effective because you need to work at your dog's pace. You could choose a trick to teach and then go step by step teaching it.

How do I get my 4 month old pup to stop getting aggressive and biting when we don’t let him do something he wants to do?

@kourtnee_love You need to bring down his level of frustration, preferably before he gets to that point. Give him alternatives, don't leave out a bunch of stuff and expect him not to touch, offer him trades etc...

@melissac Are you able to share just which certification you have? I'm a little unsure about what your program entailed which would affect some of this stuff.

The high-value treat Big Dog Food doesn't want you to know about

@charlie84 Most dogs do love yogurt however you do want to check the brand that you are using and make sure that it does not contain any artificial sweetners.

    Dog insecure at the park…

@rue77 Find an on leash green space and use a long line. There is nothing wrong with that idea, but putting him in a dog park when he is insecure and nervous of other dogs is a fight waiting to happen and at three months in a new home he is just showing his actual personality now. I would...

    Dog insecure at the park…

@rue77 So a dog that has been living with you for three months should never be at a dog park. You barely know them and certainly haven't had the time needed to train a recall. Why do you want to have this dog at the park? It sounds like at best he is wary of strange dogs.
