    [Discussion] Consent and R+ 2.0 in K9 Sports/Training

@havik This podcast is a great start! Follow people like Amy Cook, Sarah Stremming, Hannah Branigan, and Shade Whitesel’s (they all have blogs, YouTube channels). They also teach courses online at Fenzi Dog Sports Academy, including a class specifically on this R+ 2.0 concept!

@midge121 Thanks! I was pretty sure it did but too lazy to flip back through the lectures lol.

    [Discussion] Documentaries on Dogs

@ssvegitto2 Fun Fact: The AKC has absolutely nothing to do with dogs being bred solely for aesthetics resulting in screwed up traits (roached back in GSDs, super brachycephalic pugs, etc.) The AKC is merely a registry, they basically just host all of the breed club's standards. If you have a...

    [Discussion] Consent and R+ 2.0 in K9 Sports/Training

@mdsmith3931 Her Worked Up! class addresses it. I kind of morphed that one + the protocol Shade talked about in an in-person seminar. I’m pretty sure one of shade’s classes has her protocol in there though, maybe crucial concepts of competition?

[Fluff] My 2nd Kishu Ken Litter Has Arrived!

@hisinlove My breeder had all the pups pretty much named by the time they were assigned to each puppy buyer. It was her "E" litter so they all had E names. If you had been on her waitlist for a while, she took suggestions on E names for the pup you wanted. I didn't hop in on the litter until...

    [Discussion] Consent and R+ 2.0 in K9 Sports/Training

@sunshinexsweettea There’s an R+ 2.0 class specifically, but i haven’t taken it yet. Worked Up! And Fix It with Sarah were incredibly. Shade’s toy classes were the most beneficial for me personally, but that’s because toys were what i struggled with.

    [Discussion] Consent and R+ 2.0 in K9 Sports/Training

@sunshinexsweettea Oh man, this whole concept has rocked my world for the past year and a half or so. I’ve understood consent in the form of cooperative care for my younger dog’s whole life and implemented that ASAP. But consent during play and building a cooperative relationship with toys was...

    [Discussion] Documentaries on Dogs

@dawney This right here tells me everything I need to know about your lack of knowledge and credibility on the subject. DM is not in any way related to the structure of the animal. That "sunken rear end" you speak of is a product of the way the animal is stacked- the way the feet are placed...

    [Discussion] Documentaries on Dogs

@vanessajune It's a stretch to even call it a documentary. It's basically just one of those virally shared Facebook videos that's been going around regarding how fucked up purebred dogs are. I don't think it's worth your time. A documentary has sources, research, expert opinions, etc. This is...

    [Discussion] Documentaries on Dogs

@dawney Pedigree Dogs Exposed is only depressing because it's hopelessly misinformed, biased, and flat out incorrect at points.

This is Louie, I think he is gsd x husky. What do you guys think

@davida50 I actually don't see any GSD or husky in him. He looks like your run of the mill mutt- nothing wrong with that! Erect ears (which I'm assuming pinned him as a GSD for you) and ice blue eye (which I'm assuming led you to believe husky) could come from any number of breeds way back in...

New dog trainer interview - these are giant red flags, correct?

@shogolist4jesus It floors me the amount of people that insist that their dogs should follow commands because "I told them to" and think that training with treats is wrong. I very rarely do things just because someone told me too, rather than because it's rewarding for me. Why should dogs be any...
