@kowon Understandable. I'm glad it was made clear through our conversation though, it could have been confusing to someone else 😁

@kowon Nothing was ever said about registration. The conversation was about testing for temperament. Any dog may take the CGC, not every dog may receive it as a title. My service dog received a certificate of completion, she is spayed and I have no papers on her despite being told she is...

@kowon From the AKC website: Who Can Participate in CGC? CGC is open to all dogs–purebred and mixed breed. There are no age minimums or limits for participating in the Canine Good Citizen program, because yes, you can always teach an old dog new tricks! With that being said, we also know that...

@kowon That has not been my experience.

@donnags1964 The CGC is a good baseline if taken at breeding age in my opinion, however. Here is why - if a dog cannot pass the CGC, it should not be bred. In my own dogs, if they do not pass the CGC, I re-evaluate, re-train, re-test until I see no further avenues. But I would not keep them...

@donnags1964 Absolutely. I concur. I personally don't take the test with my dogs until at least 2 to 2.5 years to test their training and public access abilities. This last time I took the test was with my current service dog, and it was taken as her public access test, not as a breeding...

@rose3279 A good start to finding an unbiased third party opinion on temperament would be to do a Canine Good Citizen Test. Go from there as recommended.

    Lancaster Puppies

@recuerdo Generally, thus does apply to all known puppy mills. However, as LancasterPuppies was brought directly to my attention and I found so many heartbreaking stories of people being scammed by them right here on reddit, I went ahead and made a post about them specifically.

    Lancaster Puppies

@kavya123 Proof is above, in the OP, and just because you got lucky and found "good" stock from an OBVIOUS mill advertiser, does not mean that we on this sub a) condone this advertising site, nor b) take the word of one, single, unverified breeder when HUNDREDS of verifiable stories are out...

    Lancaster Puppies

Lancaster Puppies IS a puppy mill advertiser! Fellow mod @oldwoodsman brought this site to my attention and I feel the need to be absolutely clear with the sub since some people were apparently defending this abhorrent puppy mill advertiser. A cursory search on Google brought up their website...

    Appropriate conduct in this sub

I, as well as others, have noticed a trend for posts on this sub to devolve into arguments with inappropriate and abusive language. I do not believe that when @pyonghwabear created this sub they wanted people to speak to each other in this manner. I am not going to be going back through posts...
