    B.A.T. 2.0 vs Control Unleashed

@exoaria Another vote for CU - more versatile and a wider tool set. CU helped turn my reactive boy into a demo dog for my trainer.

Have been working with a reputable breeder but mom is first time and had to have a c-section and has rejected the puppies…advice?

@svitlana78 It depends on how old the puppies are TBH. If they're still under a week or two, mom could come around to them once she's healed and feeling more maternal. It also depends on if their are other dogs in the breeder's home. They will often help to raise the puppies (once they're a bit...

How to Get Involved in Dog Shows?

@lumiere Lots of great advice already, but I'll add my 2 cents as someone JUST getting into breeding. I started in sports with my pair of rescued mutts. My trainer has become my breeder and breeding mentor and I'll be bringing home my first breeding female dog in January. In the last year...

Thoughts on snuffle mats? Enrichment toys. 🐶

@zimmer36 NOTHING WHILE UNSUPERVISED. Enrichment is great, but it should only be done while supervised. Snuffle mats, lucky mats, puzzle feeders, stuffed Kongs etc are all great options.

    Getting Started as a Breeder

@jwfletch First, check that you have permission from his breeder. If you don't have any kind of contract, I would be rethinking breeding him, as he may not have come from an ethical breeder, and very few ethical breeders would want to use him as a stud unless he is phenomenal in every way -...

    Getting Started as a Breeder

@xnxnmxosjiohidd9u8e92u FastCAT is a 100 yard sprint, lure coursing is a 500+ yard course with turns. Lure Coursing is used to determine the hunting ability of sighthounds, since they can't really be used for their breed purpose safely at this point in time, especially not in North America...

    Stud Fee

@kurat Pick of the litter can be different for each person and sometimes the overall pick just wouldn't fit into your lifestyle well. And you can't keep every puppy. If you prefer a cash fee, that's fine. You would just have to find a stud owner who is willing to accept that.

What everyday item has your dog elected as their favorite toy?

@chingay Empty plastic water bottles. We take the lid and the little plastic ring off, but my dogs LOVE them. Every once in a while I'll toss some kibble or smaller treats inside and use it as a slowfeeder.

Spending standards are different for our dogs. Who thinks the same?

@brookem I have a savings account for trial entries (dog sports) AND a savings account for dog related emergencies. Together, those get more money then my personal emergency savings account.

How likely that a reputable breeder missidendifies the breed? Like 0%?

@carlawalker It is not a breed. Full stop. It's a mix. Genetic testing isn't health testing and basic vet care is less than the bare minimum that would be required from a reputable breeder. The problem with breeding mixes is because you aren't mixing good quality from either breed, since...

How likely that a reputable breeder missidendifies the breed? Like 0%?

@carlawalker This is all most people need to know that this "breeder" isn't reputable at all. Any expectations that they behave like an actual reputable breeder would go out the window with that one word, including selling a dog under a designer mix label even if it isn't one. Since he's...

I suspect that a person has plans unethical breeding - what to do? [UK]

@definedbytruth This is great advice! Just want to add another point: OP, do you know if he go the dog from a licensed breeder, or can you find out? If he did, it's very likely that he has a contract that states that he CAN'T breed the dog. If you can find out who the breeder was, you can...
