@shamashuruk I’m a first time dog owner, so it’s jarring for me. He doesn’t seem sick or in pain or even bothered by being hungry (aside from his goo goo eyes when I eat my own food lol). Maybe he’s just being odd.

@micqaz I did that once and he seemed pretty grossed out by his food so I never did it again. I do wonder if he’d eat kibble hydrated with gravy or broth though, haven’t tried that.

@emmanuelm118 No he’s the sole dog in the family, which is probably why she spoiled him so much. None of us are used to big, glaring puppy dog eyes.

@ace2015 I tried with egg because he’s sensitive to dairy, and the little jerk ate all the egg and left the kibble. That’s why I think he’s starving himself in hopes I’ll cook him up a 5 course meal.

@hope4family When I first adopted him I had to hand feed him at first, I don’t know why I forgot about doing that, so I will definitely try that in a few minutes!

@shinesobright She really did. I gave her a detailed note with all of my dog’s info before I left and VERY CLEARLY wrote “no human food unless previously discussed”. Apparently she just didn’t see that part lol

@ajay24 I’m trying hard not to cave at all today like I did the day before, but it’s really bumming me out. I may end up giving him wet food tomorrow morning if this keeps up. He’s just breaking my heart because nothing seems wrong with him health wise. And I guess it’s good to mention he did...

@dan_r We’re definitely going to make an appointment if he still doesn’t eat tomorrow, but money is a little too tight right now (we can’t even afford to feed ourselves right now). But he’s not avoiding food, he’s just avoiding kibble, and he’s drinking his water just as normal as always.

@riverwild He’s genuinely in love with my mom (he knew her from his puppy years, but she didn’t have the time or space to take him in when he needed a new home). So I think a week with her was heaven, and now returning to me probably hurts a bit.

@mark_ward Hope everything goes well for you and yours. My mom said he ate lots of chicken & table scraps and then would sneak off at midnight to eat his kibble, so I really don’t think he’s sick (or I’m hoping he’s not). Maybe he’s just being stubborn and holding out for something better? No clue.

@racholo He just got done with treatment from Lyme disease, and it wrecked his tummy, so maybe it could be that + the readjusting to being home again.

@walkedthroughthefire LOL I just got back from South Carolina and the difference between the “heat” up north vs the heat down south knocked me on my butt. Props to y’all for baking like bread everyday!

@norsemen It’s definitely been hotter before. I’d say the real-feel lately gets up to 85°F at most.

I just spent a week out of state, so my dog stayed over at my mom’s house the entire time. He got nonstop car rides, lots of yard time, and probably a little too much human food. He’s also obsessed with my mom, probably a little more than me, so I know he wasn’t too anxious being with her. But...
