    @cangel101 We have an appointment set for him Friday with a professional, but if we couldn't have gotten something soon, we would have used clippers w/ a #10 guard, as a few commenter recommended

    @sonny9313 I am not against taking him to a groomer in general, but I've heard that groomers will look harshly on the owner or turn away the dog all together

    @incognitochristian I've heard that many vets judge harshly on owners who have matted pets. We have been extremely careful with the matts we have cut out
